Our Approach

Our Concrete Work Management Approach

Professional concrete services built for South Florida’s soil conditions, humidity, and long-term structural performance.

Concrete that cracks, sinks, or develops surface issues within a few years is almost always the result of poor base preparation, wrong mix ratios, missing reinforcement, or improper curing — not bad luck. In South Florida’s climate, these shortcuts compound quickly. A properly installed driveway, patio, or walkway should last decades without significant issues.

At GJD Home Solutions, we prepare the base correctly, set forms level, place rebar or wire mesh where the application requires it, and pour with a mix appropriate for the environment. We finish surfaces cleanly — broom, smooth, or exposed aggregate — and handle curing properly so the concrete develops full strength. Demolition and removal of existing concrete is handled in-house as well.

Our Expertise

Concrete Work That Holds Up & Looks Great

Concrete done right lasts decades. Concrete done wrong cracks, settles, and becomes an expensive problem. At GJD Home Solutions, we handle driveways, walkways, patios, garage floors, steps, and decorative flatwork — properly formed, properly reinforced, and poured with the right mix for South Florida’s climate and soil conditions.

We prep the base, set forms level, place rebar or wire mesh where needed, and finish surfaces cleanly — broom finish, exposed aggregate, or smooth depending on your application. We also handle demolition and removal of existing concrete.

We serve Florida City, Homestead, and all of Miami-Dade. One call gets you a concrete crew that pours clean, finishes strong, and builds flatwork that holds up for years.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a concrete driveway take to install?

Most residential driveways take 2–4 days from start to finish. Day 1 is excavation and base prep, Day 2 is forming and pouring, and then we allow 24–48 hours of cure time before light foot traffic. Full vehicle load typically requires 7 days of cure.

A broom finish has light texture lines brushed across the surface — it’s slip-resistant and the most common choice for driveways and walkways in Florida. A smooth or trowel finish is flatter and better suited for interior slabs, garages, or decorative patios where stamping or staining is planned.

In many cases, yes. If the cracks are surface-level or the sinking is minor, we can grind, patch, or use mudjacking techniques to restore the surface. However, if the base has eroded or the damage is structural, full replacement is the better long-term investment. We’ll assess it honestly during our free site visit.

Yes — with proper planning. We monitor weather windows carefully and will never pour in active rain. Concrete in Florida needs to be mixed with the right water-to-cement ratio and cured properly given the heat and humidity. Our crew is experienced with Florida’s climate and schedules pours accordingly.
